WHO I AM
Hey there, I’m Sonya—a southern girl born in Savannah, Georgia, now living in Houston, Texas, with my incredible son. Soft-spoken and full of interests, I’ve always been deeply bothered by injustice. I love sports, and I’m a business owner and aspiring author. My spiritual gift of mercy compels me to speak for the unseen, advocate for the unheard, and walk boldly in the tension between justice and grace. One of my mentors has even nicknamed me the Quiet Storm, a name that reflects my calm demeanor paired with a fierce passion for justice and grace.
WHY I WRITE
Writing is how I give mercy a microphone. I’ve seen how silence shields injustice—and I believe words can set things right. Through my words, I aim to amplify the voices of those who have been silenced, to shine a light on the unseen corners of injustice, and to inspire others to walk boldly in the tension between justice and grace. Writing is not just a tool for advocacy—it’s a way to restore hope, build bridges, and create a space where mercy testifies.
WHAT GROUNDS ME
Outside the courtroom and writing, I’m a self-proclaimed picky foodie who delights in fine dining and international travel, hot yoga enthusiast, and devoted acupuncture client even though I’m terrified of needles. I also love organizing my schedule through creative planning- its how I stay aligned with what matters the most. These joyful rituals ground me, offering rhythm and restoration as I pour into the work God’s called me to do.
